Born in the Netherlands, Wim came to Aotearoa New Zealand in 1999 and took on roles with the New Zealand Blood Service, before managing a commercial veterinary laboratory. Wim joined ESR in 2008 as Laboratory Operations Manager, going on to hold different roles with ESR over the years. In 2022 he assumed the role of General Manager for ESR’s Environment Group. With three adult children, Wim lives on a lifestyle block near Lincoln and is keenly interested in restoring the biodiversity of the Canterbury Plains. Wim and his partner Kate have transformed three hectares of their property back into native forest.
