About
Before joining ESR, Alvaro was a Principal Research Scientist at PlantTech Research Institute, where he developed AI and machine learning for the New Zealand horticulture industry. He also has a background in computational astrophysics, having worked in Spain, the UK and Chile, where he is from. From 2015 to 2019, he was a Staff Researcher at Centro de Estudios de Fisica del Cosmos de Aragon (CEFCA) in Teruel, Spain. Alvaro has published over 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals in different topics including astrophysics, machine learning, and remote sensing of vegetation.
