FluTracking is an innovative surveillance system that harnesses the power of the internet and community spirit to monitor influenza and other respiratory illnesses. By participating, you’ll not only be contributing to essential scientific research, but you’ll also play a crucial role in tracking the spread of illnesses in your local community and across the nation. This in turn helps health providers make better decisions about how to protect our wellbeing.
Why FluTracking matters
Since FluTracking launched in New Zealand in 2018, more than 136,000 people have registered. Last year there were an average of 30,000 responses per week, with approximately 50,000 participants completing at least one survey. This incredible community effort provides invaluable data that helps public health officials and researchers understand and respond to the spread of these illnesses.
The more people who participate in FluTracking, the more comprehensive our data becomes, enabling us to better protect community health and respond effectively to outbreaks. Which is why we need your help.
How you can make a difference
Participating in FluTracking is simple and quick. You can sign up on any device. Each week during flu season, you’ll receive a brief online survey that takes 30 seconds to complete. Every survey completed helps build a clearer picture of how respiratory illnesses are affecting communities.
Your participation is completely free, voluntary, and you can opt out at any time, but by staying involved, you’ll be contributing to a healthier community. Find out more about FluTracking.
