Role within Māori Impact: Georgina is the Māori Impact Manager at ESR, where she leads national kaupapa focused on Māori-led science initiatives, capability-building programmes, and strategic advisory roles. She works closely with iwi, hapū, Māori organisations, and government agencies to drive Māori aspirations in science, innovation, technology, and environmental sustainability. Why she is passionate to work in the space: Georgina is deeply passionate about applying a kaupapa Māori lens to projects, programmes, and platforms within the science, innovation, and technology sectors. Her commitment stems from her belief in supporting and protecting mātauranga-a-hapū and mātauranga-a-iwi. She is dedicated to delivering outcomes that respect and uplift Māori knowledge and practices, ensuring they are integral to advancements in science and technology. How her mahi contributes to the collective impact for Māori: Through her work, Georgina partners with iwi, hapū, and Māori organisations across Aotearoa, contributing to research and kaupapa in areas such as groundwater, water health, marine microbiology, taonga species, rongoā rākau Māori, genomics, genetics, and more.
