Virginia (Jinny) Baker
Senior Social Scientist

Virginia (Jinny) Baker is a senior social scientist at the Institute for Environmental Science & Research Ltd, (ESR). Over her more than 20 years working at ESR, Jinny has been involved in a range of environmental and human health projects where her work has supported community engagement in science (ie. Paritutu dioxin, Future Foods, CIBR, GNS) and enabled cultural and community values to be better understood in risk decision-making. Current research is focused on transdisciplinary methods and Te Tiriti partnership approaches to orient better models for collective action, leadership and innovation for sustainable change in practice.

- Advancing braiding of evaluation approaches (Developmental evaluation and Kaupapa Māori evaluation) for waste minimisation and environmental sustainability
