Justine Gilliland

Justine Gilliland is Chief Executive of Venture Taranaki (the regional development agency for Taranaki). An experienced director, she is on the boards of Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research, the Agricultural Marketing, Research and Development Trust (AGMARDT), Tui Ora (Māori health provider for Taranaki) and Economic Development New Zealand.

Prior to joining VT, she was Deputy Director General Sector Partnerships and Programmes at MPI, and previously held various senior management roles in the public sector, mainly in the areas of investment, innovation/R&D, strategy and comms. A notable role previousluy had was as the Executive Director of the Royal Commission Inquiry into the Canterbury Earthquakes, which Justine cites as "one of the most challenging but also most rewarding roles I have held".

Justine lives in New Plymouth with her husband and twin six year old children.
