Details
Strains of Staphylococcus aureus producing one or both of two immunologically distinct exfoliative toxins A or B have been associated with a series of impetiginous staphylococcal diseases referred to as staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome. Exfoliative toxins A and B have identical biological activity and a degree of genetic similarity.
