ESR’s weekly measles surveillance for the week ending 8 November shows 43 confirmed cases including 39 new cases in the Auckalnd Region.


In the past week, cases have been confirmed for Northland, Auckland, Waitemata, Counties Manukau, Capital and Coast, and Hawkes Bay DHBs.

There have been 695 hospitalisations for measles nationwide for 2019, including 162 for children under 12 months of age. 

The national total of measles cases for 2019 is now 2023 confirmed cases of measles notified across New Zealand. 1638 of these confirmed cases are in the Auckland region.
