Jan is a science leader experienced in identifying technical and non-technical risks to the supply of safe and acceptable drinking water, and developing management plans to address these risks.
She has a particular interest in working with small communities, and draws on her first-hand experience of the difficulties faced and benefits gained in combining technical and community views on water management.
Jan contributes this expertise across a range of water management programmes, working at the socio-technical interface of participative action research and advice.
Areas of interest:
- drinking-water quality assessment and risk management plan development
- managing the quality of drinking-water for small communities
- assisting Pacific Island countries with sustainable water management strategies and practices
- multi-disciplinary science management
- facilitating participation at the interface of biophysical science, policy development and community
