We provide scientific advice and expertise for the management of  drinking, recreational and wastewater. Our work contributes to the quality and safety of New Zealand's water.

• Principal Science Advisor to the Ministry of Health:

        - Drinking-water quality surveillance and reporting
        - Science advice supporting health and environment public policy
        - Information systems management

•  Water management advice and  services to local authorities

•  Integrated scientific water research programme 
  

The Water Management Group works with ESR's Integrative Research for Sustainability (IRfS) Group to include different agencies, policy agendas, stakeholders and communities providing a 'bigger picture' understanding and identifying sustainable solutions and management strategies.
