• Environmental and Resource Management Act (RMA) issues related to water allocation;
• community participation in policy and decision-making;
• urban development;
• environmental health, especially community involvement in defining and managing environmental health issues (eg. fluoridation, EMF, 1080);
• the role of social science in the (biophysical) science - society interface
