Radiation Protection Advisor (PDF, 176 KB)
Ionising radiation generators and radioactive materials have many beneficial applications in medicine, industry, research and agriculture.
At the same time, the radiation risks to the public, patients, staff and the environment originating from these uses needs to be effectively managed. Both organisations and individuals who use ionising radiation must maintain oversight of radiation safety, uphold regulatory compliance, ensure the security of radioactive sources and communicate effectively with a range of agencies and stakeholders which often include the public.
In all but basic activities it is essential to have access to the advice and support of an expert on radiation protection. Partnering with an external expert is also cost effective when compared to the cost of maintaining the in-house competencies needed to properly operate a radiation protection programme.
