Annabel Ahuriri-Driscoll: Kairangahau Māori/Māori Researcher
Annabel joined ESR in April 2005 and is based at the Christchurch Science Centre. She has affiliations through her father’s whānau to Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Kauwhata, Rangitāne, Ngāti Kahungunu and Ngāti Toa. Annabel has a Master’s Degree in Public Health and experience in public health, Māori and iwi research.
The Māori Researcher role reports to the Programme Manager – Integrated Research for Sustainability (IRfS) and involves the provision of analytical, methodological and management support to project teams and external clients in the area of social science.
Zack Bishara: Kairangahau Māori/Māori Researcher
Zack joined ESR in January 2009 and is based at the Kenepuru Science Centre in Porirua. His primary role as a researcher is on the Ngā Tohu o te Ora research project and he also contributes to the Mātauranga Māori and Biosecurity project as well.
Zack is Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Pākeha, and has a Master’s Degree in Resource Studies from Te Whare Wanaka o Aoraki Lincoln University. He brings to ESR experience in local, regional and national kaitiaki issues through his work with New Zealand’s Environmental Risk Management Authority.
Maui Hudson: Māori Development
Maui joined ESR in January 2005 in a Māori Development role. He has affiliations to Whakatōhea, Ngāruahine and Te Mahurehure. Maui has a Master’s degree in Health Science and experience in Māori health and ethics. The Māori development role reports to the General Manager, Strategy and Research, provides cultural and ethical advice to researchers, engages with Māori and Pacific communities, and develops collaborative research projects.
