Forensic Science Business Group
Forensic Science: Sole forensic provider to the New Zealand Police
Pharmaceuticals: Science servies and advice for Pharmac and Medsafe. Specialist analysis and services for the pharmaceutical industry
Workplace Drug Testing: Providing workplace drug testing services for the Department of Corrections and about 1000 New Zealand companies
Environmental Health Business Group
Public Health Surveillance: Coordinating and collating information for several national surveillance systems for the Ministry of Health.
Human Biosecurity: Providing capability, expertise and skills in human biosecurity and disease, counter-terrorism and research. Partner to MAF Biosecurity, science provider to New Zealand Customs.
Communicable Disease: Principal science advisor for the Ministry of Health. National laboratory and surveillance services for notifiable and other diseases which affect human health.
Food Safety: Core science provider to the New Zealand Food Safety Authority. We provide advice and scientific services to government and industry.
Water Management: Principal Science advisor for the Ministry of Health. Water management advice and services for local authorities. ESR provides scientifc advice and expertise on the management of drinking, recreational and wastewater
Research and Support Services
Social Science Group: working with communities and central and local government to manage issues through decision-making and planning processes.
